Ken Towle (Class Of '61)

   Kenneth E. Towle passed away at his home in Palo Cedro, California on Tuesday, December 11, 2012, he was 69 years old. He was born in Woodland, California and loved living in the Redding and Palo Cedro area for the past 40 years. Ken was always smiling and incredibly outgoing, he had a true passion for family, friends and life itself. Ken loved golf, the 49ers, the Giants, good red wine on steak night and Neil Diamond. His Memorial Day Horseshoe Tournaments were legendary, as was his Friday Night steak nights. 


Ken is the son of the late Robert W. and Lois (Parker) Towle. He is survived by his wife of 50 years,Peggy Towle and his children: Kris Nichols, Karen Steppat and her husband Jeff Steppat of Palo Cedro, CA. He is also survived by his brother Robert Towle and wife Myrna of Kaneohe, Hawaii and sister Joanne Sibbett, Lodi, CA. He is also survived by his grandchildren: David Nichols and wife Krista Nichols, Margaret Baker and husband Cody Baker, Madison Steppat and Tyler Steppat along with his new great-granddaughter Gracie Nichols. 

Ken graduated from Woodland High School in 1961, an outstanding student and athlete.  He attended Stanford University and U.C Davis. Ken worked for Pacific Bell, retiring after 25 years as an Engineer. He was employed as an Investigator for Barr and Mudford in Redding, CA. 

Relatives and friends are invited to Ken's Life Celebration on Saturday, December 29th from 3 to 6 at the family compound in Palo Cedro.
