Feb. 26, 1945-May 7, 2015
Phillip Edward Rosasco passed away peacefully on May 7 at Woodland Memorial Hospital due to complications from diabetes. Phil was 70 years old. He was born Feb. 26, 1945 in Woodland to Lloyd and Edna Rosasco. Phil was in the last 8th grade graduating class from Dingle Elementary in 1958. He graduated from Woodland High School in 1962. After high school he joined the Army National Guard. When he returned from the military he went to work for Yolo County Mosquito Abatement. He also worked for the Electric Garage in Woodland, Guaranteed Forklift in Sacramento, and E.L. Wallace Farms. He then decided to go into business with his father as a heavy duty diesel mechanic at Rosasco Motor Service in Knights Landing, which he owned and operated until his retirement in 1999, after 33 years in the business.
Phil was a member of the American Legion, NRA, The Cache Creek Plinkers Association, ECV, AOPA, and Knights Landing Boat Club. He earned the honor of Eagle Scout at the age of 13 years. His hobbies included hunting, fishing, drag racing, flying his J-3 Club, boating, and being with family and friends.
Phil will forever remain in the hearts of his wife of 46 years, Margie (Schneider) Rosasco, as well as their sons Kenneth (Rebecca) and Kurtis (Malissa). Phil was known as Papa to his four grandchildren, Anthony (Tony); Kylee; Tyler; and Haylee Rosasco.
He was preceded in death by his parents, stepfather George Clark, loving in-laws Joe and Margaret Schneider, his faithful dog Butch, and loving cat Fred.
