Bob Tauzer

Robert Glen "Bob" Tauzer Jr., died Friday, Dec. 16, 2011, at the age of 67 in Woodland. Bob was a native of Woodland and a 1962 graduate of Woodland High School. After working to become a cabinet maker, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy, achieving the range of Engineman Second Class and earning his submarine qualification onboard the USS Segundo (SS-398) before being honorably discharged. Following service to our country, Bob was employed by Mobil Chemical Co. for 25 years, where he worked primarily in the maintenance and machinist departments, retiring in 1995. He then owned a handyman business, providing services throughout Woodland until his full retirement.

Bob was a member of the Woodland Elks Lodge No. 1299 for 39 years, where he served for five years as chairman of the Elks Blood Bank, and was a member of American Legion Post 77. He greatly enjoyed his time on RV trips with family and friends and was a charter member of the Yolo Tale Enders RV Club for nearly 30 years.

Bob was survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Joyce; parents, Robert and Dolores Tauzer; brother, John Tauzer; son, Bryan Tauzer and wife Kimberly; and grandchildren, Adam, Anna, Nathan and Sarah Tauzer; father-in-law, Leo Wunder; brothers-in-law, Lynn and Lonny Wunder and families. Bob was preceded in death by his brother, Ron Tauzer, in 1987.
